Spotlight on NASA Space Telescope

Located on the campus of The Johns Hopkins University, the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA) for NASA. They operate the science program for the Hubble Space Telescope and will conduct the science and mission operations for the James Webb Space Telescope. In addition to conducting world-class scientific research, they also support other astronomy, outreach, educational programs.

STScI uses SlideRoom for a wide variety of those programs including HR, Grants, and Science Proposals to be part of their community which includes 500 scientists, post-docs, engineers, and administrators. The administrators for each of those programs can easily manage all of the settings themselves, allowing for wide diversity of use cases.

How many applicant tracking systems can accomodate that diversity and still be easy to use? Not many. SlideRoom has replaced their homegrown system for processing applications. The ability to easily customize application forms, reference requests, and evaluation features on an ongoing basis provides everything needed to meet exacting standards for determining qualifications.
