SlideRoom Application Instructions
Overview
After registering and logging in, you will see a black screen with buttons in the left sidebar. All steps can be completed via these 3 accordian buttons. When you click each of these buttons, it will reveal instructions for that section. The first button allows you to make sure the correct program is chosen. The second button allows you to manage your portfolio. And the last button allows you to enter text items if required. (Note: Organizations that do not want text can hide this button).
Organization Name
Organizations may have multiple programs. Make sure the correct program is being displayed within the blue window. If the correct program is not displayed, click the link "wrong program, select another." This will bring up a window with more program choices.
Select Program
Clicking on "wrong program, select another," will bring up a window of program choices. You can browse different programs by clicking on the drop down menu. Each of these choices will have portfolio guidelines displayed below. Once you find the correct program, click the "select" button at the bottom right corner of this window.
Upload Portfolio
First, click the "manage portfolio" button in the sidebar. This will reveal the media uploader. Click "browse" to search for files to upload. You can select one at a time or many by holding down shift. Once you see your files in the blue box, click "upload." You can arrange the order of your portfolio by dragging and dropping the thumbnails. Make sure to follow upload guidlines displayed below. Images are best around 1280 x 1280 px @ 72dpi, saved as jpeg. Video files must be under 20MB, and can be saved as flv, mov, or wmv.
Label Portfolio
Double click on any thumbnail to label that portfolio item. This will bring up a window to enter Title, Dimensions, Medium, and Date. When these are entered, click "save" at the bottom of this window. (There is no need to enter your name, this will be displayed automatically throughout the process).
Submit Portfolio
Once your portfolio is prepared, make sure to click "submit portfolio" at the top right corner of your screen. Your portfolio will not be visible to anyone until you send it. This will bring up a window with a review and payment process. Be sure to have a credit card ready.
Payment
Enter your credit card information and click "next." You will have a chance to review all of your information before you send. Finally, you will receive a confirmation # and an opportunity to print a receipt. You will also be emailed this receipt and confirmation # (Note: If an organization has chosen to pay this fee for you, a payment screen will not appear).
Submit Another Portfolio
If you wish to keep your portfolio online, click "copy slides to new portfolio." This will allow you to start the process over without having to upload again. Of course, you can still edit the portfolio by deleting items or uploading new ones. (Note: You cannot submit to the same program twice. However, you can submit to the same organization twice if you select a different program).
